The name OSSAWA comes from the Avikam language of Côte d'Ivoire, meaning "God is Great." It carries the spirit of the brand's founder, Ivorian-American designer Georges "Bijoux" Aguehounde, who launched OSSAWA in 2014 as a deeply personal search for purpose, identity, and dignity in expression.
What began as one man's quest to understand his inner vision has evolved into a global movement of creators, leaders, and style thinkers united by a single conviction:
